1. About
By exploring Sound Design and Sound Representation techniques, particularly Audio Orientation Cues and Visual Cues, essential characteristics should be found and tested to bring closer the player's performance and experience to players without barriers.
This study will focus on video game sound design to determine how inclusiveness can be strengthened for VI and DHH players. And how these inclusiveness components impact their player performance and experience.
2. Methods
A game design documentation was created, including accessibility features based on the Game Accessibility Guidelines. A first prototype was created.
After that, in one-on-one interviews, requirements were gathered. Then, the prototype was improved. Followed by the pre-study, third prototype, and primary study.
3. Game Description
Tap Tone is a 3D first-person adventure game to explore a forest with sonified impressions. Auditory skills can be used to combine melodies. 3D objects emit notes in intervals. If the right note appears - it needs to be captured.
